Remember the perilous night at the bridge when you rose, to engage in a fight that had broken the bridge of your nose? The tension as dense in the air as the humidity, when the sun dropped and the forest never seemed so deep Chorus: My inner sense of innocence is gone now, Oh the strangeness (how foundations can seem lost now) Remember the lass in the sun dress who you always hoped would never notice your quivering voice when you spoke? The tension as dense as the text in your old diary, inspired by her to fill like the rose in your cheeks! Chorus My inner sense of innocence is gone now, Oh the strangeness (how foundations can seem lost now) Remember the days riding karts around cones set in rows Foreshadowing hazards that shattered and sent friend in droves The tension would mount as our stress as we grew through our teens when wonder was dropped and inspired our humility I know we're sums of everything we were combined Oh, it's no help when yearning to return sometimes

April Day 03:09
The open window rays of sunshine lonely nights no longer mine a decadent day on peaceful waves a twist of fate with no more games clattering souls and watchful eyes can't stop the wolf from peering what's inside it smells the fear that creeps just past the honesty of what won't last The woods are never clear but spots of truth will eventually appear clandestine dreams of tears from from her youth a sorrowful delivery of life it always finds a way on such an April Day

On my back on the way to Tecumseh In the hard bed of Estevan's truck The rickety vehicle was rusty and clumsy I, mesmerized by the heavens above The backdrop was indigo, freckled with stars marbling cataracts of milky gray clouds Skateboards rattled while the celestial reel played its ancient and breathtaking cinema out Streetlamps were jealous old men with poor posture whizzing by casting a wizened glow stars twinkled playfully, and I'm thinking, “maybe she's holding back secrets that no one can know” The zodiac eternity a constant rolling past modernity's nonsense I watched a modern montage in my periphery The earthly display was modest A pity, it's pretty petty in contrast with the majestic night sky twilight epiphany what if creatures in some sort of saucer also observe this conveyor belt film?! The Earth just a marble, the curious marvel the emptiness of space and how wonderment can fill the cold wind in my hair the stars gleam in my stare the engine and laughter there roared riots in my ears The air in my lungs felt fresh and at home in its room comforted I felt blessed like life might be telling the truth

R.E.M.ember 05:32
My hometown haunt was sparse in parks to play in Yet never bored, our sparks illuminated like insects soared then jarred that glowed when shaken our spokes adorned with cards that roared when racing Chorus: It seems my youth was an unfettered dream Now beds are where we wrestle with our sheets As at slumber parties when we'd never sleep Now I can see the R.E.M. in “Memory” Dug massive trenches that flanked backyard sheds Swung as bats from branches, blood flushed our heads Shrug off countless wounds incurred in accidents Jump back up and say “hey let's do that again!” Chorus It seems my youth was an unfettered dream Now beds are where we wrestle with our sheets As at slumber parties when we'd never sleep Now I can see the R.E.M. in “Memory” Dashing through the cool air at night Breathless manhunts far past bedtimes Beaming beacons (parents' flashlights) The true beacon: our friends that hide Where are they now? Where are they now? Do they redden when their world feels upside down? Do they still search for their friends? Do they dream of me, as I do them? Do they chase anything these days? Can they jump up from their scrapes and pains? Do they know the joys of digging deeply? Do they still have trouble sleeping? Is it out of sheer excitement.. Or the restless stress of life that's lifeless?! It seems my youth was an unfettered dream Now beds are where we wrestle with our sheets As at slumber parties when we'd never sleep Now I can see the R.E.M. in “Memory”

about

Indie-folk anthems to bygone days and reminiscent illustrations of a youthful life lived with a fierce appetite for vivid adventure. Basking in the halo-glow of revelation brought about by the awe-inspiring discoveries born of richly, hungrily lived experience. As much ebullient nostalgia as it is a decisive and insistent goodbye letter to origin stories in favor of progress and future-craving.
